The Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS-NS) has released a valuable report documenting its field surveys at Owls Head Provincial Park.

“Located on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore, Owls Head is an intact coastal wilderness of high conservation value that has been a priority for protection for the past 50 years. This report documents the ecological significance of Owls Head, through a review of existing studiesand original fieldwork undertaken by the Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS-NS) and a team of volunteers, in 2020 and 2021.

… This report recommends permanent protection of terrestrial and marine ecosystems at Owls Head, in addition to ongoing baseline monitoring and further animal and plant biodiversity surveys.”
